"You're seven years old. Mum's in hospital. Dad says she's 'done something stupid'. She finds it hard to be happy. You start a list of everything that's brilliant about the world. Everything worth living for. You leave it on her pillow. You know she's read it because she's corrected your spelling."
Ice cream, the colour yellow, the smell of old books, people falling over — as a mother battles chronic depression, a child creates a list of everything that makes life worth living. As time passes and the list grows, what began as a naive attempt to deal with tragedy becomes an epic chronicle of life's small joys. Staged in an in-the-round setting, this uplifting and affirming solo storytelling performance is both deeply moving and joyfully funny.
"Andrew Chandler is utterly
charming as he finds the
light within the dark of
daily life""
"One of the most powerful
theatre experiences of my life"
"It's beautiful and hopeful
and made me laugh"
"Masterfully performed"
"One of the most beautiful pieces
of theatre I've seen in a long time"
